What are extensions?

Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic, faux mink or silk fibers made to replicate a natural lash. They are attached to individual natural lashes to enhance fullness, length and curl.

Volume

Volume is a technique where multiple single extensions are used to make what looks like a fan, narrow at the bottom and full at the top. This creates extra fullness and can be helpful to camouflage any sparse areas or gaps if there are any in your natural eyelashes. The number of extensions per fan depends on the look you are wanting to achieve and the strength of the natural eyelash. A natural eyelash can only properly hold so much weight. If too much weight is used the lashes will hang down low and twist causing irritation or pain.
Volume lashes are completely customizable and versatile. This technique is perfect for everyone, whether you have sparse natural eyelashes or a lot of natural eyelashes, if you want a natural subtle look or dark and dense look.
Each of my fans are hand created at the time of appointment to allow for complete customization and to ensure the appropriate weight is used.

Fills

Just like the hair on the rest of our bodies eyelashes are constantly growing in and falling out as a part of their growth cycle. From start to finish the cycle of a single eyelash is 90-120 days. Depending on how fast your eyelashes grow, you can lose 2 to 5 lashes every day. During fill appointments extensions are placed on the new natural lashes that have grown in and extensions previously attached to eyelashes that have grown out are removed and replaced. Fills are typically needed every two to three weeks depending on how fast your eyelashes grow, aftercare, lifestyle and the desired fullness. The more frequently you get fills the fuller they will be.

The experience

My goal when creating this space was to provide an inviting, relaxing and comfortable environment. A lash appointment can be a very relaxing experience. With only one artist and one client in the space at a time, you as the client are able to guide the level of relaxation. You will be seated in a reclining chair with a blanket (if you would like one) gel pads and tape are applied to your bottom lashes so they don’t get attached to the top lashes or the extensions. From there your eyes remain closed for the entire application process. If applied properly extensions do not hurt at the time of application or after. Occasionally if your eyes pop open from talking or when the tape is being adjusted there may be a light stinging from the fumes. This will go away after a few seconds by itself, or with the air from a handheld fan. Relaxing as much as possible during this appointment is recommended. Extensions need to be applied to a single natural eyelash to avoid damage to other lashes. Separating a single eyelash from the others takes a lot of focus as you can imagine. The more relaxed you are, the less you likely you will be to move around and the easier it is for me to apply extensions quickly and properly. This a great opportunity to catch up on an audiobook, podcast or even take a nap.
