How long do lash extenions last?
Fills are typically needed every 2 to 3 weeks. This depends on how fast your natural eyelashes grow, aftercare and lifestyle. Lash extensions are attached to your natural eyelash with a semi permanent adhesive. The adhesive can stay bonded to the natural eyelash for up to 7 weeks with proper care. However, just like the hair on the rest of our bodies, eyelashes are constantly growing in and falling out as a part of their growth cycle. Depending on how fast your eyelashes grow, you can lose 2 to 5 a day. As natural eyelashes are shedding off, they are taking the extensions with them and new eyelashes are growing in. There are 3 stages of this process so there is always new growth, eyelashes that are in the process of shedding and the ones in between.
How long are the appointments?
Full sets are up to 3.5 hours and regular fills are up to 1.5 hours.
Why do the appointments take so long?
Going too fast often results in poor isolation and lashes being stuck together which can cause irritation, pain and damage. I work at a pace where I can ensure my isolation and application are done properly. My fans are hand created at the time of appointment to provide complete customization and to ensure appropriate weight is used on each eyelash.
Can I wear eye makeup?
Eye makeup is not encouraged. If you do wear eye makeup it’s important to use oil free products and to remove it before going to bed. Even if using oil free products it does cause extra ‘wear and tear’ on the extensions and more frequent fills may be required to keep them full.
Can I go swimming
Yes. However salt and chlorine can eventually breakdown the adhesive. It’s recommended to wash your lashes as soon as possible afterwards.
Do Lash extensions hurt?
If applied properly, lash extensions do not hurt during the service or as they grow out.
